Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Dunki
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan became well-known in the 1990s thanks to a number of successful box office releases. When the 2003 movie Devdas came out, the actor’s run of success continued. Shah Rukh stated in an interview that despite being counselled against starting the project, he did it out of respect for his mother. “I moved on when it became clear that we would not be doing it anymore. However, I was eager to work on a movie like that in my career. By the time I started working in film, both of my parents had died. I don’t know; for some reason, I always felt I’d make films that are very big so that my mom and dad can see them from heaven,” the actor said on the Locarno Meets podcast.
SRK added that it might seem “childish,” but he really thought his mother would like it if he did a film like Devdas. “I still think my mom is a star, and it works,” he said. I believe I even recognise her as a celebrity. I simply thought she would love it if I made Devdas. She would be grateful.
Shah Rukh Khan revealed that despite his doubts about his acting prowess, he felt obliged to accept the challenge in order to honour his mother. I might have done it merely to tell my mother, ‘Hey mom, I did Devdas.” The actor remarked, “It was that first and working with Mr. Bhansali as well.”
Devdas, which was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was adapted from Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s book of the same name. It tells the tale of Shah Rukh Khan’s character Devdas, who falls in love with Aishwarya Rai’s character Paro. After his parents forbid them from getting married, his life takes a turn for the worse. Devdas eventually succumbs to potentially fatal alcoholism, and Paro eventually marries another man. Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit played important parts in the movie as well.
Regarding his career, Shah Rukh Khan was last spotted in Dunki. According to reports, the actor and his daughter Suhana Khan are currently working on Sujoy Ghosh’s movie King.
