According to reports, the event will happen from November 30 to December 8.
India Blockchain Week (IBW) is being revived for its second edition by Web3 venture firm Hashed Emergent with the goal of showcasing India’s early-stage Web3 developers and businesses. Along with other platforms, sponsors include well-known Web3 companies like Polygon, Aptos, Starkware, and the Starknet Foundation. Startups looking for capital to boost their expansion will be connected with investors from different Indian cities.
This initiative includes several events designed for startups and developers to showcase their Web3 protocols. Among the highlights are the ETH India Hackathon, IBW Web3 Demo Day, and IBW Chain-Agnostic Hackathon.
The planned dates for the event are November 30–December 8.
In a formal statement, Aptos Labs co-founder and CTO Avery Ching said, “India is home to incredibly talented developers and leaders who are advancing Web3 in remarkable ways.” Aptos Labs, a San Francisco-based company, makes Web3 technology tools and services available to the public.
“India is at a unique inflection point in Web3 adoption, with its thriving developer community, commitment to entrepreneurship, and pace of economic activity,” Keone Hon, CEO of Monad Labs, added in response to Ching. Based in New York, USA, Monad Labs strives to advance blockchain technology.
Despite its cautious approach to fully integrating cryptocurrencies into its financial system, India has consistently demonstrated interest in researching blockchain technology. Blockchain, which is frequently promoted as a substitute for Web2 servers, not only guarantees the long-term security of data but also breaks it up into smaller packets to improve security against hacking and data loss. This technology is also known as Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT).
India’s IT ministry recently unveiled the Vishvasya Technology Stack, which uses data centres in Pune, Hyderabad, and Bhubaneswar to deliver Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS). Several state governments have also implemented blockchain to enhance their data management.
A report by KPMG India and Hashed Emergent claims that India is a major contributor to the growth of blockchain technology worldwide, housing over 1,000 startups and employing more than 12% of the world’s Web3 developers. Hashed Emergent anticipates that the IBW Conference in Bangalore this December will be an important forum for discussion between industry professionals and policymakers, assisting in the development of a roadmap for India’s future in this field.
Prominent speakers at last year’s IBW included Charles Guillemet from Ledger, Sebastien Borget from The Sandbox, and Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum.
