Calling Donald Trump “Second George Washington” at the Mar-a-Lago Gala, Sylvester Stallone

When Sylvester Stallone spoke at the America First Policy Institute Gala at Mar-a-Lago, he hailed Donald Trump as the “second George Washington.”

Legendary Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone has praised US President-elect Donald Trump, likening him to America’s founding father, George Washington, and his own iconic film character, Rocky Balboa. During his laudatory introduction of President-elect Donald Trump at the America First Policy Institute Gala, which took place at the Mar-A-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida, last night, the 78-year-old actor and filmmaker made these remarks.

Stallone called Trump the “second George Washington,” emphasising his historic role following a decisive electoral win, as captured in a C-SPAN video posted to X (formerly known as Twitter).

He declared, “We are in the presence of a really mythical character,” as he spoke. “Mythology is something I adore. And there is no such person on this earth. I am amazed by what he accomplished because no one in the world could have done it.” Trump, Stallone went on, is the “second George Washington.”

“When George Washington defended his country, he had no idea that he was going to change the world. Because without him, you could imagine what the world would look like. Guess what? The second George Washington was acquired by us.

A major change in US politics was brought about by Trump’s overwhelming victory over Democratic nominee and vice president Kamala Harris. He became the first Republican to win both the popular vote and the presidency since George W. Bush.

Stallone also compared Trump to Rocky Balboa, the underdog boxer he portrayed in the 1976 classic, during his speech. The audience enthusiastically applauded the actor’s remarks, demonstrating his strong support for the president-elect.
