According to officials on Friday, two individuals were taken into custody for operating a counterfeit currency note manufacturing ring and disseminating counterfeit notes valued at Rs 30,000 in the Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh.
According to the police, the accused, Satish Rai and Pramod Mishra, used to print fake Rs 500 notes on Rs 10 stamp papers on a computer printer. Mirzapur is where they purchased the stamp paper.
According to the police, the serial number on each note was the same.
The two were arrested at the Ramgarh market in Sonbhadra, where they intended to spend an additional Rs 10,000 on counterfeit currency.
“We found 20 fake notes of Rs 500. Without knowing the specific characteristics of the currency notes, no one would be able to tell that they are fake,” stated Additional Superintendent of Police Kalu Singh.
The accused printed mineral water ads as their profession. According to the police, they discovered how to print the phoney notes on YouTube.
In addition to the counterfeit currency, the police confiscated an Alto automobile, note-printing equipment, a laptop, a printer, and 27 stamp papers from the defendant.
