According to the Washington Post, Alphabet’s Google may face yet another regulatory obstacle as the US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has taken action to place the company under official federal supervision.

Regulators may have access to a company’s internal records if it is under federal supervision.
Alphabet and the CFPB chose not to comment.
In addition to a court order to allow competition in its mobile app store, Google is already facing government action that could compel the company to sell off portions of its operations.
