Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 May Offer Two Models at Launch: Report

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 might be associated with codename B7.

Each year, Samsung typically introduces one new book-style Galaxy Z Fold and one flip-style Galaxy Z Flip to its foldable lineup. By releasing the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in July and the new Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition in October—a lighter and slimmer version of the standard model—the South Korean smartphone manufacturer broke with tradition this year. According to a recent report, Samsung is expected to release two different Galaxy Z Fold 7 models the following year. The codename for the standard model is Q7.

There may be two Galaxy Z Fold 7 variations in the works.

As per a report by Galaxy Club, Samsung is currently working on two variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. According to reports, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is codenamed Q7, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is codenamed B7. The company is allegedly developing a third Q7M model in addition to these two codenames; this could be the second iteration of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

According to the report, the Q7M’s development is proceeding concurrently with that of the standard Q7, indicating that the Fold will not go on sale until early 2025. This Galaxy Z Fold 7 variant is rumoured to be either the rumoured tri-fold phone or another Special Edition.

This month, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition made its debut in South Korea. While keeping the same internal specifications, it has a lighter and thinner design than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. When it was released, the single 16GB RAM + 512GB storage configuration cost KRW 2,789,600, or about Rs. 1,70,000.

The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition has a 200-megapixel rear camera and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for the Galaxy processor, just like the regular model. It has an 8-inch internal screen and a 6.5-inch external screen.
