Rishabh Pant makes it into the top 10 of the ICC Test Rankings. India’s Star Is Now At

Rishabh Pant has moved up five spots in the Test batter rankings following his spectacular half-centuries during the Test.

As a result of their impressive performances in the third Test in Mumbai, Indian wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant and New Zealand veteran Daryl Mitchell have risen to the top 10 in the most recent ICC Test rankings, which were made public on Wednesday. Pant has moved up five spots to sixth place in the Test Batter Rankings following strong half-centuries during the Test. His career-best ranking of fifth, which he last held in July 2022, is almost here with this increase. Mitchell has also experienced a significant uptick, moving up eight spots to seventh overall following an 82 in the first inning in Mumbai. He now shares the second spot with Kane Williamson, another New Zealander.

The top spot on the Test batter chart was still held by England’s Joe Root, who was followed by Williamson, Harry Brook (third), Yashasvi Jaiswal (fourth), and Steve Smith (fifth). India’s Shubman Gill has also improved, moving up four spots to 16th place after scoring 90 runs in the first inning against New Zealand.

Will Young, the Player of the Series and a key figure in New Zealand’s triumph, jumped 29 spots to 44th place overall.

In the bowling department, India’s left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja surged two spots to claim sixth position following a stunning 10-wicket haul against New Zealand. Washington Sundar, his teammate, improved as well, moving up seven spots to 46th place among Test bowlers.

New Zealand’s spin attack similarly saw rewards. Ish Sodhi moved up three spots to equal 70th, while Ajaz Patel moved up 12 spots to 22nd.

As a result of his outstanding 13-wicket haul against Bangladesh in South Africa’s most recent series victory, South African spinner Keshav Maharaj moved up four spots to 19th.

There is also a lot of movement in the most recent ODI rankings. After scoring his 17th ODI century in the second game against England, West Indies captain Shai Hope rose five spots to 12th among ODI hitters. Following his century in the same match, Liam Livingstone of England experienced a notable ascent, rising 32 spots to 58th.

Pace bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Mitchell Starc made strides on the ODI Bowler Rankings. Following their opening performances in Australia’s ODI series against Pakistan, he rose three spots to claim fourth place, while Starc rose four spots to 14th.

In the ODI all-rounder division, Scotland’s Brandon McMullen also improved, moving up three spots to sixth place.
