Mallika talked candidly about their previous conflict, blaming it on their inexperience at the time. “We were so young, silly and stupid.”
Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat collaborated on the 2004 movie Murder. Despite their intense on-screen connection, the actors had a falling out soon after the movie came out. However, at the wedding celebration of producer Anand Pandit’s daughter, Aishwarya, in April, Mallika and Emraan put an end to their 20-year feud. On the red carpet, they were spotted chatting while posing together. Mallika now talked candidly about their previous conflict in an interview, blaming it on their inexperience at the time. We were very foolish, young, and unintelligent. Ego, you know, enters the
way. Bohot bharte hain na log, industry main kaan bhi. People in the industry listen to you. I was given incorrect advice. He’s a wonderful man. He is an amazing person. I have wonderful recollections of working with him on the project, even those private moments. He was a true gentleman. In an interview with Ranveer Allahabadia, Mallika stated, “He gave me a sense of security and self-worth.”
The actress also stated that she is amenable to the prospect of collaborating with him once more. Given his son’s struggle, his success, and the experience he has had, I would be overjoyed to collaborate with him once more. “He’s simply amazing,” she continued.
Mallika Sherawat discussed her role in Murder in the same interview. The actress disclosed that she received a great deal of criticism for her daring parts in the film. “The culture was not prepared for murder, and it was not prepared for me either,” she said. Bollywood has only recently surpassed my 2004 status. Actresses were supposed to adhere to a set of rules at the time. Whereas I was unrepentant, they were timid. A femme fatale was introduced with Murder.
Mallika Sherawat shared that she also faced judgement from her Bollywood peers. “There are some big-name actresses in Bollywood whose names I won’t take, but they were condescending to my face. There was so much slut-shaming. The actress claimed, “They wanted to make me feel bad about the daring things I did.”
Murder, which was directed by Anurag Basu, also starred Sheeba Chaddha, Rajendranath Zutshi, and Ashmit Patel in significant parts.
