Yashveer Singh, the Superintendent of Police (Raebareli), stated that the additional superintendent of police is looking into the claims and that decisions will be made in light of his findings.
Mr. Singh said in a statement that on October 30, Sushil Sharma, the head of Kapurpur village’s representative in Nasirabad, organised a “Nautanki” programme without authorisation.
Under the influence of alcohol, he and his associates mistreated the public and caused mayhem during the programme. According to the report, the accused also misbehaved with a local police station team, which led to the arrest of five individuals, including Sharma.
But according to Mr. Sharma, the police arrived in the village late at night and requested that he halt the nautanki programme.
At the local police station, Sharma said he and four other people were arrested and subjected to physical abuse while being forced to lick his spit.
Additionally, he claimed that Shivakant Pandey, the Nasirabad SHO, had demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from him. The Rashtriya Panchayati Raj Gramme Pradhan Sangathan, meanwhile, demanded action from the SP in a written complaint that was submitted on Saturday.
