The Huawei Mate 70 series is expected to arrive later this month in China as the successor to the Mate 60 lineup. The upcoming series is believed to include at least four models. Huawei is yet to confirm their arrival, but a new leak on Weibo has given us a look at the key specifications of the standard Huawei Mate 70 model. It is said to feature a 1.5K display, triple rear cameras, and wireless charging capabilities. Meanwhile, an alleged render of the phone has surfaced on the web, hinting at a resemblance to the camera design seen on the older Mate 50 lineup.
Details of the Huawei Mate 70’s camera and display (anticipated)
According to a Chinese-language Weibo tipster, Digital Chat Station, the alleged Huawei Mate 70 will have a 6.69-inch screen with 1.5K resolution. Like the Huawei Mate 60 from the previous year, the upcoming phone is rumoured to have a triple rear camera unit with a 50-megapixel 1/1.5-inch sensor with variable aperture at the top. According to the tipster, the camera setup will include a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with a 5x optical zoom.
The Huawei Mate 70 reportedly has a fingerprint sensor for authentication on the side. The phone may have an official dust and water resistance rating and is expected to support wireless charging.
Gizmochina has also posted a render of the alleged Huawei Mate 70. The phone in the picture has thin bezels on all sides and is white in colour. Although it has a similar design to the Huawei Mate 50, the phone’s camera module appears to be different from the Huawei Mate 60 lineup. The cameras are grouped in a circular module with LED flash.
The Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and Mate 70 RS Ultimate are anticipated to be included in the Huawei Mate 70 lineup. Later this month, these phones are probably going to be released in China. Compared to the Mate 60 models, they should have longer battery life.
