The Air India flight from Mumbai to London was the target of the bomb threat, according to an airline official.
After receiving a bomb threat, an Air India aircraft was intercepted by the Royal Air Force on Thursday using a Typhoon fighter jet. The aircraft made a safe landing in London.

A Royal Air Force spokesperson stated, “We can confirm that RAF Quick Reaction Alert Typhoon fighter aircraft from RAF Coningsby were launched this afternoon to investigate a civilian aircraft.”
According to the spokesperson, the aircraft was released to proceed to its initial destination under the supervision of civilian air traffic control after an uneventful interception.
The spokesperson added that civilian authorities are now in charge of handling the situation.
The flight made a safe landing at London Heathrow Airport, according to the airline official.
