Russian Forces Capture New Village In Ukraine’s Donetsk Amid Raging War

About five kilometres (three miles) separate the industrial city of Kurakhove from the captured Ukrainian village of Vovchenko.

In Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, where the army has been advancing in recent weeks, the Russian defence ministry announced on Sunday that its forces had taken control of a new village.

About five kilometres (three miles) from the industrial city of Kurakhove, the ministry declared, “Units of the Centre armed group have liberated the town of Voltchenka,” using the Russian spelling of the Ukrainian village Vovchenko.
